$10,000 raised for Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust thanks to Ruralco Golf Classic
Ruralco is proud to announce that a donation of $10,000 has been made to the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust (MCRST), following the successful Ruralco Golf Classic held on Friday, 11 April 2025 at the Tinwald Golf Course.
Thanks to the incredible support of attendees and sponsors, the event achieved outstanding results, with 100% of proceeds from player entries, on-course challenges, and raffles directly benefiting the MCRST. These funds will help the Trust continue its important work providing free, confidential support and wellbeing services to farmers and rural communities across Mid Canterbury.
Ruralco CEO, Tony Aitken, said the success of the Golf Classic reflects Ruralco’s ongoing commitment to Mid Canterbury, strengthening community ties and backing local initiatives.
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, whether by playing, sponsoring, or donating. This event was about more than just a round of golf, it was a show of solidarity and support for the people at the heart of our rural community. We are especially proud that the funds raised will stay local and directly assist Mid Canterbury farmers and their families," Tony said.
“As a regionally focused co-operative, Ruralco’s core purpose is to lower farm input costs for our members, and we’re equally committed to supporting their wellbeing. Partnering with the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust is one meaningful way we can give back to the communities that support us.”
The Ruralco Golf Classic drew more than 100 players from across Mid Canterbury, creating a day full of camaraderie, fun, and fundraising. Special thanks go to Ballance Agri Nutrients and Nutrien Ag Solutions for their joint platinum sponsorship of the event, FMG for supporting the Vintage Putt Off, and all raffle prize sponsors who helped make the day such a success.
Ruralco looks forward to continuing its partnership with the Mid Canterbury Rural Support Trust and making the Ruralco Golf Classic an annual highlight on the rural calendar.
